Mauritius is an essential spot for scuba diving lovers. With more than 60 spots, regularly visited by the various diving centers, the island receives more than 70000 international scuba divers every year.
In May 2007, Mauritius hosted the 11th Underwater Photography World Tournament.
Discover a wealth of colourful underwater fauna and flora in the shallow crystalline lagoon where a phenomenal variety of different species of fish and crustaceans live near corals and shells. To enjoy this underwater scenery, one must wear a mask, whether a beginner or a certified scuba diver.
There is also a water sports club where you can dive without any breathing apparatus. “Trou aux Biches” and the wonderful marine park in Blue Bay are the most beautiful spots on the island.
