The Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is the country's national public broadcasting service and covers both radio and television.  On 30th September 2005, the company launched the terrestrial digital television (TDT), offering 9 television channels amongst which 3 are in analogical mode and 6 in numerical mode.

The MBC broadcasts a wide range of programmes in French, English, Creole, Hindu, Tamil, Marathi and Mandarin.  The news is usually broadcasted on Téléréunion and France 2 at around 11.00pm and 11.30 pm respectively.  The news channel such as Skynews, Euronews, BBC (Live) and the general-interest-channel, TV5 are also broadcasted in MBC stations.

Since the liberalisation of the broadcast industry, several private radio stations have emerged:  Radio+, Radio1 and Top FM.  MBC's public radio station is called "Kool FM."  All the radio stations broadcast programmes or news in French and Créole.
