The beach of Roches Noires goes all the way up to the beach of Poste La Fayette. These two fairly pleasant beaches have a wild aspect to them, hence bringing a certain authenticity to this part of the country. Bordered with black basaltic rocks and fairly secluded, these beaches are nestled within a peaceful surrounding.
In this region, the sea breeze blows almost all year round, particularly during the hottest months and therefore brings in a fresh cool air that is very welcoming.
The beach of Belle Mare stretches over 10km of white sandy beaches! It forms an arch bordered with casuarinas. This beach is also much appreciated by the Mauritians, who come here to enjoy their weekend picnics.
The Belle Mare beach is located to the north of Trou d'eau Douce.
Located 15 minutes from the coast by boat, the île aux Cerfs also has stretches of fine sandy beaches! Its blue turquoise lagoons will surely charm you!
Please note:
Like the other tourist spots, this one is also crowded at weekends. Do not hesitate to leave the main beach of the pontoon to find a peaceful spot.
Walk past the restaurants and souvenir stalls to discover a secluded creek, where you can enjoy a peaceful moment in this haven of paradise. However, mind out for sea urchins that are present more or less all over the lagoon.
Ile aux Cerfs also offers an array of water sports activities. One can try out parasailing and speed boating. It also has straw huts restaurants, handicrafts and souvenir stalls and even an 18-hole golf course!
Access: several service providers propose a return trip but some also offer few package deals that include the boat trip, a look at the underwater fish and a barbecue on the beach.
