The Estates

   Le Domaine des Pailles

Le Domaine des Pailles is located 5 km south of Port Louis.  Not only is it a tourist, cultural and gastronomic complex, but also a natural reserve stretching over 1500 hectares at the foot of the Moka ranges.
Programme: sugar cane production, coffee grinding, rum distillation, making of essential oils and a presentation of Mauritian folklore through Sega dancing.
Enjoy a wide range of family activities such as 4WD outings, quad biking excursions or simple strolls, horse and carriage rides or horse or pony riding through the mountain surroundings.  The Domaine les Pailles also boasts a "Grand Casino," a mini golf, stables (which muster about sixty horses and ponies from South Africa), an 18th century ox driven sugar mill, a swimming pool and of course, a shop selling exclusive products.  Guided tours are organised everyday from 10.30am to 04.30pm, every 30 minutes.

Le Domaine du Chasseur

Located right in the heart of the island, near Curepipe; Nouvelle France, the (new) Domaine du Chasseur stretches over 950 hectares at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level.
True to its name, the Domaine du Chasseur is a hunting zone.  The property proposes java deer and wild boar rifle hunting.  Rifles and munitions are available at Le Domaine du Chasseur.  The property also proposes taxidermy and conveyance of the trophy - a period of 3 months for transporting the trophy is required...
Apart from hunting, the estate also offers an array of activities: line fishing, big game fishing, sea regattas, trekking and quad biking.  Facilities: a restaurant and guides.

Le Domaine d'Anse Jonchée

Nestled between the blue turquoise lagoon of Le Vieux Grand Port and the emerald green of a unique primary forest, Le Domaine d'Anse Jonchée is a haven of peace, far from stressful cities and noisy spots.  Part of the valley of Le Domaine d'Anse Jonchée used to be known under the name of Le Domaine du Chasseur, but with the acquisition of Le Domaine Ylang Ylang and its neighbouring lands, the estate has considerably increased in size.
One can discover the Mauritian fauna and flora on the 4 trails, each with a different level of difficulty designed to please occasional walkers or trained hikers.  Other activities include rifle hunting and archery.
As for accommodation, Le Domaine d'Anse Jonchée proposes 7 "Ti-Vilaz" lodges surrounded by luxurious vegetation, a natural habitat of endangered species.  The restaurant, "Le Panoramour" will entice you as much by its cuisine as by its panoramic views...

 Le Domaine de l'Etoile

Le Domaine de l'Etoile is the largest property in Mauritius (5000 ha) and one of the most beautiful thanks to its indigenous forests, lush valleys, crystalline sources and rivers.  Indeed, the authenticity of its peaceful and calm surroundings makes it an exclusive trip on the island, offering a wide range of circuits for all skills.
Activities: hiking, mountain biking, quad biking, 4 Wheel Driving.  There is also an archery course set over 10 hectares.  Encounters with java deers, endemic birds such as kestrels, cardinals and pink pigeons are possible.  Over 80 different plant species, trees, shrubs and magnificent vanilla and coffee plantations can also be found here.
Sample a typical Mauritian meal at L'Etoile.
