The 12th April 2008: a few activities for this weekend

The famous painter, Anne Delplace will exhibit for the first time at the Malcolm de Chazal Gallery in Curepipe until 20th April. Already known and recognized, Anne Delplace brings the visitors into the Mauritian society. About a thirty or so paintings will be exhibited on the theme: “Mauritius”: landscape, vegetation and flowers, marines, Mahashivratee and cavadee characters....

Open from Monday to Saturday from 10 30am to 05 00pm, except on Sundays and Bank holidays
The artist will be present on Friday 11th April

Story telling of Zistoirs Bébétiks by the Compagnie Acte 3

The professional theatrical company which has been set up since 1993 in the city of Saint-Benoit in Réunion Island will come to Mauritius featuring the “Zistoires bébètiks...” During its visit, the Acte 3 will enliven three mini homes along with the inhabitants in the cities of Tamarin (from Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th April from 10 00am to 03 00pm in Art & Music in La Pointe Tamarin), in Mahébourg (from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th April from 10 00am to 03 00pm at the Centre de Créativité in Pointe Canon in Mahébourg).
In Réunion Island, the “bebets” mean devil and it lies in the heart of its tales based on the popular art of speech.

« Lovers across the world» by Annie Cadinouche

With close collaboration of the Alliance Française, Annie Cadinouche has already exhibited last year under the theme of “Mahébourg…or time to enjoy life,” where a series of black and white photographs portray the Mauritian city. This time, the photograph comes back with a universal theme: love.
