Nestled on the upper parts of Hell Bourg, the trout farm greets the fishing enthusiasts within a very colourful site. Just follow the signs in the shape of fish to get there.

No need to bring a fishing line to go trout fishing. Here, everything is well thought out: availability of different types of fishing lines, hooks, plastic bucket and even the essential cloth used to keep the too slippery fish. However, the owner of the spots, Yolande Irigoyen states: "It's better to take a cooled bag if you have to make a long drive! But I supplied the ice." It's also her who will empty and clean the fish.
Being of various sizes but all big enough to feature prominently in our plate, the trout needs to be cooked and delicately seasoned first.

3000 fish to be caught

For the fish, it all starts in the hatchery: the eggs hatch in a room temperature of 8 degrees prior to an incubation period of 35 to 45 days. The alevins remain in the hatchery for three months. Then, they are being transferred to the fishing basins once they are rather big. There are 3000 fish divided into two basins. Even if we are not good at fishing, it's impossible to go back without these beautiful and colourful trouts! And those who don't fancy fishing can enjoy a nice stroll along the spot. The owner of the spots will be eager to show you around.
