We still remember that at the beginning of the month of May, Alizée Poulicek, Miss Belgium 2008, came to Mauritius for a short stay at the Tamassa hotel (Naiade Resorts) in Bel Ombre for a photo session for a Belgian magazine. It was also intended to personify the image of Belgium through a series of programs that will be broadcasted next July and August in Belgium.
Set up thanks to the Tourist office in Mauritius (MTPA), this project was supported by Best Tours and one of the largest tour operators in Europe. Its producer, Geff Linsse, of VRT TV, also came to Mauritius and was accompanied by a few models.
Back in Europe, the beautiful Alizée Poulicek was in Paris on Wednesday 21st May and met up with our correspondent, the Mauritian reporter and photographer, Joey Niclès Modeste, to whom she narrated her visit to Mauritius.
I had heard a lot about Mauritius in the past as my parents had already been there. It was my first visit to this paradisiac island and now, I can understand why Mauritius is such a popular destination with the foreigners. In addition to its landscapes and the places that I was lucky enough to visit, such as Ile aux Cerfs and Ile aux Aigrettes, the island has magnificent areas," she stated.
Whilst talking about her visit to Mauritius, Miss Belgium told of how touched she was by the charm and the kindness of the Mauritians. Her meeting with Miss Mauritius 2008, Olivia Carey, at a Beach Party at the Méridien Hotel on the 5th May seems to have left its mark on her. Alizée Poulicek also told us about her first Sega steps (traditional dance in Mauritius). She could not hide the fact that she regretted "not having had enough time to visit the island. A week...it goes by very quickly."
