Attitude : A trendy sushi bar

Attitude is riding on the success of Japanese cuisine in Mauritius.  This sushi and wine bar offers those in quest of an exotic new surrounding, a flavoured trip to the rising sun country.  Views.

t200 Presentation raffineThe sushi bar, Attitude, looks like a peaceful oasis that invites one for a cool drink in this stifling heat of Port-Louis.  Situated on the first floor of the shopping mall in Caudan Waterfront, Attitude has pitched on a cozy atmosphere and offers a real relaxation niche where the main activity lies in going from shops to shops.  The latter, with their colourful façades keep on attracting the shoppers.

One may take a seat at one of the four tables or simply sit at the bar where one can watch the cooks bustling about the preparation of the Japanese dishes.  Whilst giving a final shape to the rice paste, one of them finds it necessary to reassure us: "it's fresh fish that is caught that morning itself."  Located a few meters from the fishing port, the restaurant never lacks of seafood.  Every morning, the chef carefully selects the best products: red tuna, marlin and prawns.

A quick glance at the menu card is enough to appreciate the wide variety of the meticulously prepared sushis and other makis.  One can choose from the Californian roll to the tuna, marlin, and prawns sushis to the crab sticks among others.  The sushis being very affordable - the price varies from Rs10 to Rs 16 each -, one'll be wrong of not tasting it.  Once the order is placed, only a few minutes is needed to finally enjoy this meal which is recently quite successful with Mauritians.  You can sip a freshly-squeezed fruit juice while waiting for the sushi, or order something else from wine card.

Quick service, cheap and tasty

As indicated by the neon light over the bar, Attitude is also a "wine bar."  Since nothing is worth a good white wine to accompany the fish, a variety is featured at the restaurant.  Which won't displease the most gourmet ones.

It'll soon be noon.  Whilst a few guests are seated enjoying their lunch, others come to take their order.  Nestled in the city centre, Attitude also delivers the sushis in small transparent boxes which the most hurried ones will eat greedily eat in the office.  The latter can then choose from about ten or so varying sushi set on the bar.  "It's quick, cheap and particularly tasty," happily said a sales representative who is also a regular customer.  At lunchtime, the scent of the "wasabi" and ginger tickle ones nostrils.  The sushis served are like the restaurant: beyond reproach.

But, unlike other restaurants, Attitude closes its doors shortly after office hours.  Hence, one is unable to come for a snack whilst waiting for the next showing at the movie theater a few meters away.  An "inconvenience" that the owner of the premises promises to sort out in the near future.
