The visitors can discover a wealth of natural sites at the Casela. All you have to do is to get on a quad bike and follow the tour guide. Let's head for a small tour.
Monday. The peaceful ambient is interrupted only by the birds songs. Located along the western coast, between the village of Bambous and Flic-en-Flac, the Casela is a true animal's sanctuary. The visitors, who are always in a hurry every day, are delighted to have some peace here. In addition to the tour and strolls with lions, the park offers an array of activities. Thus, we choose to have a quad bike outing this time.
This fun and efficient locomotion indeed allows one to discover the safari park whilst observing the wild animals in their habitat. In short, it's a pleasant way to combine big thrills and strolls. After a last checking of this four-wheel drive, the guide gives them to the visitors of the day. It takes a few minutes to initiate to the quad drive. Very responsive, it starts up at the first time.
After just a few minutes, the guide hails at us to stop. A little further on, a few zebras stroll casually and they are soon joined by spectacular deer. Accustomed to the presence of man in these places, these animals do not flee whenever a visitor goes nearer. A stunning show that immediately attracts and amuses the budding adventurers. After having taken a few snaps, the tour continues. The vast stretch of lands remind one of the African savannah, whereof the team takes care to ensure the welfare of the animals. "It was important to recreate a natural environment of the animals so that they are neither lost nor stressed," said our guide. A successful bet. This stroll promises a total change of scenery.
But after the stroll, which has begun rather quietly, shortly turn into a more athletic pace. The first challenge is to cross a river. Our guide stops a few centimeters from the bank and finger points where we need to cross. The instructions are clear: move slowly but keep enough speed not to bog down. One by one, the visitors plunge into the cold water and try to boost to meet up with the other bank. Burst of laughter follows by cries of cheers.
On the other side, everyone tries to remove the splashing mud on the face and relates to his/her neighbour how he/she manages to successfully cross the river. "It's too fun. We apprehend a little at first because we don't really know how to go about it, but after it goes on its own. We are like big children playing in the mud," underlies Tatiana smilingly, an Australian who is on vacation in Mauritius. In addition to the big thrills of the quad bike, we cannot help to slow the pace from time to time to contemplate the scenery.
After the endeavour, the relaxation. Once back in the park, there is nothing better than to enjoy a fruit cocktail whilst admiring the view over the western coast. The sunset show over the Flic en Flac lagoon is simply breathtaking. The quad bike remains definitely a pleasant way to discover the Casela Park.
