Le Dix Neuf, a gourmet club

Being more than a mere restaurant, Le Dix Neuf is a gourmet spot where both golfers and fine gourmets meet.  Nestled in the Tamarina estate, the restaurant overlooks the golf course.  The view is as breathtaking as the dishes that are meticulously prepared by the chef.

A welcoming stop after a round of eighteen holes at the Tamarina estate, situated five minutes away from Flic-en-Flac.  All wooden, the spots are a haven of peace where it's nice to come to refresh oneself after a round of golf beneath the western sun.      

With a big smile, the barman welcomes the guests with exotic refreshing cocktails.  We gladly let ourselves be tempted.  And as the weather was nice, we decided to sit on the terrace overlooking the 18 holes.  Everything here, reminds us of the small white ball. 

The atmosphere is as resolutely warm as the dishes offered and the décor.  One'll think one is within an African savannah.  "We have chosen a rather rustic atmosphere for the restaurant to give out a convivial and warm aspect.  In fact, the golfers and residents of the villas feel at home here," explains the director of the restaurant, Arvind Caliaberah.             

At the tables, a few golfers relate today's performance.  A few minutes later, the dishes are laid in front of the guests.  As far as the cuisine is concerned, Le Dix Neuf cultivates a European influence, without relinquishing a certain Mauritian touch. 

Hence, fish such as tuna, sea bream and amongst others as well as fresh green salads feature on the menu card.  Meat such as lamb, deer and chicken delight the taste buds of the fine gourmets who come each evening in this luxury restaurant.         


Warm chocolate moelleux

Le dix neuf suplombe le dix huit trousAnd for those who want to taste the specialties of the local cuisine, there is nothing better than a curry being cooked in a traditional way, served on a bed of saffron rice.  The flavour of the spices tickles ones nostrils.  It's hard to resist.  "The chef presents a different dish every day.  The holidaymakers can hence taste the local specialties," explains the director of the spots. 

At dessert time, we recommend you the chef's specialty, the warm chocolate moelleux. We let ourselves be tempted without the least hesitation.  The moelleux is served with vanilla ice cream and strawberry and it is a real pleasure for the senses.  Having a crunchy coating, the chocolate is literally melting inside.  In addition to this greedy dessert, the chef holds many other surprises.      





The restaurant accommodates 80 people and is very often full for the same evening.  It is therefore necessary to do an advance booking. Being opened for a little more than a year, Le Dix Neuf restaurant has won its recognition in the west of the island as a gourmet choice spot.
